Las Vegas is now the go-to home for ALL acts from every genre to revive their careers.
Mariah Carey, who added additional dates for this year, and Jennifer Lopez are the closest thing we have seen urban music reach the Las Vegas strip. They literally opened the door for artists like Chris Brown, The Weeknd, Miguel and a few others to have short stints in Las Vegas. It was earlier this year that Big Boi of OutKast confirmed his year-long residency at Wynn Las Vegas.
However, I think with the success of the Bad Boy Reunion Tour that it would make sense to set up shop at one of the venues in Las Vegas. A lot of stars were made during the Bad Boy days and they weren’t all signed to Bad Boy Records. Look at Lil Kim and Mary J Blige.
Blige has even made a few appearances during the recent Bad Boy Reunion Tour. I don’t see why she couldn’t do the same in Vegas. Although Mary could easily headline her own Vegas show. She is another urban act that should get one. The Bad Boy Reunion tour has been a money maker for artists that have not toured in a long time, at least not on this level or visibility.
But what are the real probabilities of this happening in Las Vegas? Well according to those music odds, you might get a better shot at Missy Elliott or Janet Jackson in Las Vegas. Everyone has been speculating that Janet was eyeing Vegas for a residency, but instead she announced a tour and now a baby.
There are a ton of artists that could do a stint in Las Vegas. But who do you think should take a run at it? Leave us a comment in the section below.
