Pokémon Go, since it’s release earlier this month, has probably made bigger headlines than the current presidential election.
The interactive game app has everyone around the world catching Pokémons. The game uses your GPS to create the actual “battle ground” and also the checkpoints at your local landmarks.
But here is the catch with the game: You have to literally hunt Pokémon in these locations around your town or city. The game is forcing people to get moving and walk (literally) miles to catch Pokémon. This means that people are unintentionally getting a workout from the game.
There are even memes with before Pokémon Go and after Pokémon Go pictures. The game definitely has the potential to get you fit if you are really competitive.
But why not incorporate an actual workout while catching Pokémon? Well, our friends over at Six Pack Shortcuts & Abs After 40 on YouTube had some great suggestions for how you can really take your Pokémon Go gaming to the next level.
Pokémon Go is a great cardio workout already, but with these easy tips you can actually end up working both you upper and lower body parts. Johnny from Six Pack Shortcuts has some great additional tips to make your Pokémon Go experience a little more productive.
Along with doing push ups while meeting other Pokémon Go players, he suggests doing lunges, step ups and chair dips on park benches. You can even get your friends involved in the workout while playing the game.
You can also get creative with your workout by doing some of your other workouts while catching Pokémon. Don’t be afraid to run while trying to find Pokémon either. You should also try the great leg workout we recommended a few months ago.
Check out the tips below and let us know what you do to make your Pokémon Go experience a workout.
