I was first introduced to Gloria Prince several years when we first launched Kempire Radio and were showcasing new artists.
We were impressed with the young talented Texas-native back then and continue to be in awe of her natural talent. She picked up her life in Texas and moved to Atlanta to pursue her dream of being an artist.
Although Gloria had a few bumps in the road that hasn’t stopped her from pursuing her dream. All had been quiet until now with the release of Gloria’s new mixtape, XOGLO.
Glo decided to pick some of her and your favorite R&B tracks from the 90s and 2000s for the project. From Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody” to Beyoncé’s “Dangerously In Love,” Glo shows her ability to jump from an uptempo to heartfelt ballad without missing a step.
There aren’t many singers that can deliver as well on an uptempo as they do on a ballad. However, Gloria Prince is one of those rare singers with that level of range.
But our favorite moments from the mixtape are Glo’s covers of Omarian’s “I’m Tryna” and Tyrese’s “How You Gon Act Like That.” Glo does an impeccable job with staying true these classics but adding her unique touches along the way.
Even after all these years Gloria Prince is still a star in my eyes and definitely an #Artist2Watch.
