The new Esquire Network (formerly The Style Network) is getting backlash for one of their new shows on youth football.
Friday Night Tykes is a new reality series on the Texas youth football association has a few people in an uproar over the content and treatment of the children on the show. In the sneak peak of the series, you get a inside look at one of the teams located in San Antonio. The scenes include everything from screaming coaches and VERY involved parents to crying kids. Sounds like a hit, right?
Not in the eyes of some of the show’s critics. Despite the controversy, the show premiered with a half a million viewers on Tuesday night. I guess controversy sells huh?!
The show actually reminds me of Dance Moms or those pageant reality series. So if we are going to get upset over a coach doing very similar behavior then we should be upset about both. But maybe people are. What do you think of the show?
