Willie Gomez took some time out to feature as our first ever Dance Flex interview on Kempire Radio, where he spoke about his current job working for Britney Spears in Vegas, and a whole lot more besides.
Check out some snippets from Willie’s interview below and if you missed it you catch it in full on KempireRadio.com.
The last 5 years have been a whirlwind of jobs and hard work for Willie Gomez, and it turns out that he started dancing at the age of 15 doing what many of us do, which is trying to learn moves from music videos.
From there, he began to take classes in his native Miami, and at just 22 years of age he drove all the way from Miami to LA on his own and the dream hasn’t stopped since.
“I’ve been able to make a living out of it, I’ve been one of those lucky ones that I’ve been able to work and keep doing what I love.”
Here on Dance Flex we love posting choreography videos from dancers on YouTube, and Willie said that he sees it as a great way to propel yourself as a dancer, especially for people who don’t live in LA and can’t make it out there to audition.
Willie also spoke about the kind of attitude you have to have in order to make it in the dance industry;
“I love working hard, I try to stay very focused, go after what I want, I train a lot…I just do my best every time I’m working with someone…always stay positive, give the best of yourself”
Of course, Wille is a dancer in Britney Spears’ Vegas residency show “Piece Of Me” and when asked what people should expect from the show he had this to say;
“Its a huge production…there’s so much happening…you will have the time of your life”
Find out which 90’s cartoon character Wille would describe himself as and how his mom reacted to his plan to move to LA in the full interview below.
